In 2001, Dan Harden and Chris Bryan, long time friends and founders of the Reel Tyme String Band got together to pick and talk about old times. That brief reunion grew into a quest for a sound that created a balance between tradition and innovation.

Knowing they could not achieve that sound on their own they soon learned of a young dobro player Jerry Roberson and seasoned guitar player Rick Hedrick. This only added fuel to a fire of four friends committed to the same goal.

After a couple more years of members and friends coming and going; along came an even younger Brandon Lee, a young man that played piano, violin, rock guitar, flute. Showing up to his first practice, a mandolin was placed in his hands and his grandfather?s legacy; legendary fiddle player Bernard Lee took over.

To round out the band; we needed a solid bass player?enter: Loretta Vinson. A seasoned musician with a rich, folksy voice you cannot get out of your head and a friendship at first sight.

RTSB merges their talents into a seamless group sound and as a result, the band moves from strength to strength, braiding their Brown County roots with new threads of their own design to create a sound old as the hills but fresh as the morning dew.
